2009 Rummage Sale

Jump for Julia

At SNAFU's 3rd Annual Rummage Sale and Raffle, we hosted a Jump for Julia where kids could purchase tickets for the jumpy house.  All proceeds from the ticket sales went to the Julia Hatcher Memorial Playground Fund.

SNAFU's Suze Black donated many of her son's, Gavin's, toys and equipment for the rummage sale.  All of those proceeds were donated to the Playground Fund.  These items were lovingly known as Gavin's Gifts.  This was so very fitting as Gavin and Julia were very close and shared a special bond and way of communicating that nobody else could understand.  Gavin and Julia were destined to go to Prom together one day.  Gavin misses Julia very much and speaks of her often.

Julia's parents, Scott and Dorine Hatcher, blessed us with their presence and signed a poster created in Julia's memory.  Several children and adults signed the poster including the mom that purchased Julia's treasured battery-powered Beetle for her own children to enjoy.

The day was filled with memories and the sounds of children's laughter as they happily jumped for Julia.

Proceeds from this day pushed our newly-established Playground Fund over $1,000!
